“I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out ’til sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in.” ~ John Muir

Photography and nature as it pertains to sharing are willing companions. Like most nature types, I am rarely dressed to go without a camera or field lens. I never know what I might see and want to be ready when I do to capture it fully in my mind — better, digitally with an image.
After decades of camera use I still consider myself an amateur or, at my very best, always learning. I may never graduate to expert, but task repetition tends to build performance reliability, as curiosity drives innovation. However it is, I’m hopelessly hooked on photography. It’s important to me to forge a relationship with a camera, that is, to know its limitations and be able to manipulate its best features in the moment, as the metal meets the eye. I strive to best capture what I see as much as possible to be exactly what I see at exactly that beautiful time.
Except for in the early days of this blog, hi-res photographs, images are linked at DirtNKid’s SmugMug™ digital galleries. An innovative and visually pleasing platform for storing, displaying, and enjoying my photos, it lends more flexibility and future growth than WordPress.
I hope you enjoy my images as much as I did in collecting them. Please do get outside and experience Nature for yourself, with your own eyes. Photos, no matter how good they are, can never serve Her beauty more exquisitely.
