This Great Egret has discovered the smorgasbord of plump, green delights (aka frogs and lizards) around the homes in our neighborhood. He used to hunt across the street, but I guess they must have ran out of food…so he came over to our house.

Stands About 3-4 Feet Tall
I fear for all the Green Anole lizards who live there; they are our veggie garden’s top pest control. I watched helplessly behind my camera as he gobbled down about 8 of them.
John says he reminds him of a velociraptor in Jurassic Park. In watching his slow, purposeful hunt, I have to say I must agree.
What beautiful pictures!!
