It’s an accepted worldwide concept, but only the human animal considers the act uncouth if not done ‘properly.’

Such a fun post, Shannon! I saw a pair of whistling ducks with their babies last weekend, and up at the Willow City loop a while back I found two “fierce ground beetles” (Pasimachus californicus) mating. They certainly looked fierce, at about three inches long, but they clearly were in love, and too busy to bother with me. Besides, they don’t fly. They just run around in leaf litter, and do their thing.
Happy Earth Day — even though the date has passed. As you say, every day should be earth day.

No photo of the mating Prairie Falcons at Garden of the Gods? I still worry about the poor priests!

Haha! This is a re-post from last year and I completely forgot about the Falcons! Embedding here now, just in case. I’ll have to remember add the priest story to my GoG post. Thanks for the gentle reminder!

What a heartwarming post 🙂 We been watching a mating pair of house sparrows make a nest in the hollow of the apple tree in our back yard, so we’ve also noted a heavy does of amour in the air!
