Goodnight Moon Sun
“Everything has a natural explanation. The moon is not a god, but a great rock, and the sun a hot rock.” ~ Anaxagoras

As this sunset displayed itself driving home — only for a precious few minutes — I barely had enough time to zip into a parking space and run to a high spot on the levee to shoot it, just as it sunk behind the trees.
Timing is everything; sometimes it pays to have the big lens in tow. It was one of the most spectacular sunsets I’ve seen in a long time.
I see nothing but beauty in your image Shannon. It’s gorgeous! The quote is down to earth and celestial at the same time. Love it!

Hi, Bisogno. Sorry for the late reply…your comment got netted in the spam folder. Very glad you enjoyed my post! I felt quite lucky to have had the camera and be on the road at just that right time.

Beautiful but disturbing — like a scifi or fantasy image: the last day of the world as the darkened sun sets.

Great description. It seemed very apocalyptic to me too.
